August 4, 2023. Pakistan Embassy to Sweden organized a webinar focusing on the illegal unilateral actions of 5th August 2019. Guests included Dr. Syed Mujahid Gilani President Kashmir Youth Alliance, Dr. Zahoor Ahmed Ambassador of Pakistan to Stockholm, Dr. Syed Ghulam Nabi Fai Founder of Organisation Kashmiri American Council, Mr. Altaf Hussain Wani Chairman Kashmir Institute of International Relations, Mrs. Sara Kukka-Salam the Mayor of Solna, Mr. Ali Raza Syed, Mr. Liaqat Ali Khan and Sardar Taimur Aziz.
The speakers highlighted the gross violations carried out in IIOJK under the façade of normalcy and debunked the lies projected by India.
Dr. Syed Mujahid Gilani said that 5th of August 2019 is the darkest day in the history of Kashmir. The abrogation of article 370 was a continuation of the illegality that began on 5th October 1947. Occupation has always been ugly but now with the garbs of economic progression, such as the G20 summit, India is taking a step further in the portrayal of fake normalcy. The reality is far from normal and Kashmir has become the largest open air prison for its natives.
Other speakers described the Hindutva ideology as the fuel for the events of 5th August and termed it as BJP’s ploy for winning electoral majority. The unilateral decision was also a blatant disregard for the UN resolution. The world should unanimously take India to task for its violations of human rights particularly the violation of freedom. Ambassador Zahoor Ahmed paid tribute to the sacrifices of the valiant Kashmiri nation and thanked the participants and audience.
