A round table session organized by the Institute of Regional Studies was held in Islamabad on 19th of July, 2023. Notable guests included Dr. Syed Mujahid Gilani President KYA, Prof. Dr Shabana Fayyaz Dean and HOD Department of Strategic Studies, Yasir Rehman anchor-person Pakistan Television and Ms Sobia Khursheed from Institute of Policy Studies, NUST while Ambassador Nadeem Riaz, President IRS hosted the session. The speakers described the plight of Kashmiri people in the highly militarized area through different angles.

Dr. Mujahid Gilani explicated the importance of freedom struggle for the Kashmiris, this idea being the fuel for resilience of Kashmiri women. He reflected on the ways in which they are continuing their struggle despite the brutality of the Indian occupation.

Dr Shabana Fayyaz gave an overview of how the Kashmiris are raising voices regarding their struggles on ground out in the international arena. She delineated the significance of spreading awareness about the Kashmir conflict and the terrorism unleashed by the occupier in the land.

Ms Sobia Khursheed described in detail about the Articles 35A and 370. She delivered an account of the genesis of the two articles and their abrogation along with the effects it has on the ground. Ambassador Nadeem Riaz summarized the event and renewed the resolve for keeping up with the freedom struggle.
